Torg sounds library
I'm working on a background sound library for the different relms. I'm building the files by mixing sounds taken from the internet or created by myself into what I think a relm would sound like. I'm playing these in the background as we game, and it adds quite a bit of atmosphere. Be warned, they're quite large files, so be perpared to dowload for quite a while (Even if you have a very fast connection, I have a slow up speed, so it will take at least 45 minutes for the larger files.) You're welcome to do as you wish with these files.
When downloading these you may need to right click and tell your machine to save the file, or else it may try to stream it. Streaming probably won't work because of the speed of my connection.
All these files are mp3s.
The Sounds:
- The Maelstrom (46 megs) - A mixture of the best storm sounds I could find. Huge amounts of thunder and wind and rain. It sounds very powerfull. There is also a smaller Maelstrom sample (5 megs) file if you just want to check it out.
- The Land Below (23 megs) - A mixture of bird, mamal and water sounds, with a bit of drums added in for variety. Also available in a smaller Land Below sample (2 megs) file for preview.
- The Living Land (30 megs) - A mixture of insect, dinosaur and water sounds, with a fight between Edinos and Spartans added in for variety.
The Sounds To Be:
- The Ayslish Market - A mixture of crowd, animal, blacksmith, etc. sounds. This is the one that I'm currently working on, and it's mostly done. I need to produce some 'Ayslish' banter such as "Hey edinos, we don't serve your kind here!" or "Did you see what Ardinay is wearing this season" or whatever. If anyone wants to record some Ayslish chat and send it to me I would be hapy to mix it into the file. The files are about an hour long, so I can handle a lot of dialog.
- The Nile Speakeasy - This is going to be a mixture of crowd sounds and swing/big band music. If anyone is interested in sending dialog for inclusion in this, let me know.
- Other Sounds - I'm hoping to have other sounds after this, but I'm not sure what. Let me know of any good ideas.
